Karin earned a BA in Art from Luther College and studied illustration at the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle, Washington. She has illustrated a number of books including Mud Soup by Lindsay Nesheim, Winter's Gift by Norma L. Gentner, Ocean Waves by Gloria Bancroft, and Where is Water? by Kelly Poulsen, all published by The Wright Group.

Karin enjoys trying to capture the spirit and energy of animals, children and nature using pen and ink with watercolor. She also uses scratchboard for some of her black and white illustrations. After raising two wonderful daughters, she and her husband currently live in Seattle along with their two cats, who sometimes make an appearance in her illustrations.
